Both of my parents recently died within just a couple of months of each other. My father, Jack, a U.S. Army veteran and pilot, passed away from covid complications and my mother, Duyen (a vietnamese immigrant) died of complications from dementia at the young age of 72. Both unexpected, painful losses. For both I was there for their last breath.

One day everything was fine. The next day my life was an awful, sad disaster and the loss kept piling on. I just wanted to sleep and watch Netflix.

Three weeks into my grieving I asked God "what do you want from me?"

The familiar voice of God replied "take my people beyond brave".

Over the last 7 years, I have transcended from despair & addiction to a state of unconditional love & joy. The road wasn't easy. What was the key ingredient? bravery.
